Cameras, light and ACTION! We have kicked off a
Desktop Wallpaper competition and YOU can participate!!
We need all your inventiveness, creativity, originality and lunacy
to make up some rocking wallpapers based on The Movies. You know
you have got the flair to make people go “AMAZING”?
Then get on with it (stop reading NOW) and start working on it.
The winners will be turned into downloadable wallpapers on the website.
So better get submitting now folks!! Oh yeah, and the REAL winner
will receive a limited edition, framed copy of The Movies!
"Are there any rules?", we can hear you
ask. Of course! Your entry needs to be in .JPG format, must be no
larger then 1MB and can be submitted by email to webmaster@lionhead.com.
Keep in mind that only one entry per person is allowed.

1. ‘The Movies :: Design your Wallpaper
Competition’ (the "Competition") begins on 12th
January 2006 and ends on 27th January 2006 ("Competition
Period"). Entries received outside the Competition Period
will not be eligible.
2. Eligibility: This Competition is only open
to persons who are 13 years of age or over at time of entry and
who are legal residents of one of the following countries: United
States, Canada, an EU member state, Switzerland, Norway, Russia,
Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam,
Taiwan and South Korea only.
Employees and directors of Lionhead Studios Ltd.,
(‘Sponsor’), and Activision Publishing, Inc. (‘Activision’)
and their respective parent, affiliated and subsidiary companies,
advertising and promotional agencies, Webmasters and Web suppliers
and the immediate family (spouse, mother, father, sister, brother,
ward, daughter or son) or members of the households of such employees
or directors (whether or not related) are not eligible to enter
or win a prize.
3. To Enter: Go to The Movies™ Online website
and follow the directions set out on the Competition page.
Entries must be submitted during the Competition
Period (i.e. by no later than 27th January 2006). Any entries
received after this date will be deemed ineligible for participation
in the Competition. Any attempt at entry except as stated above
is void.
You agree that by submitting an entry, it becomes
the absolute and exclusive property of the Sponsor from the date
of submission up and to and including 27th January 2006 (‘Exclusivity
Period’). You agree not to make any other use of an entered
wallpaper during the Exclusivity Period. Upon expiry of the Exclusivity
Period, participants will be free to use their non-winning wallpaper(s)
as they wish; winning wallpaper entries may be subject to further
conditions (notified separately if applicable).
Wallpapers: In addition to the conditions of submission
set out on the Competition web page, your wallpaper(s) must also:
1) Be an original creation and not contain the
intellectual property of another person or company.
2) Not contain obscene, lewd or otherwise offensive
material.
All submitted wallpapers are will remain subject
to the Sponsor’s standard upload terms and Terms of Use
(TOUs).
4. Judging Criteria: The panel of judges who will
determine the Winners of the Competition will be composed of members
of the Sponsor’s production and management teams (the ‘Judges’).
The Judges will decide the Winners based on the following criteria
(which shall be weighted equally): quality, originality and suitability.
Any submissions deemed by the Sponsor to violate
the Competition rules will be disqualified. All decisions by the
Sponsor are final.
5. Winner Selection: There will be one Winner.
This will be selected from all eligible entries received during
the Competition Period. The Winners will be selected by the Judges.
6. Winners/Prizes: The winning wallpaper will
‘win’ the Competition and be eligible for a prize.
Please refer to the Competition web page for details The Sponsor
reserves the right to change, amend or vary the prizes and/or
terms of eligibility at any time.
The Winner and each runner up will receive notification
that their entry has won / is a runner up by email on or after
27th January 2006.
7. General: By entering the Competition you agree
to be bound by these rules and agree to release and hold harmless
the Sponsor and Activision from and against any and all liability
for injuries and/or damages sustained in connection with use of
a submitted wallpaper or related to participation in the Competition.
The Sponsor reserves the right to revise dates and procedures
mentioned in these rules, or cancel or terminate the Competition
should any cause beyond the control of the Sponsor affect the
administration or operation of the Competition.
The Sponsor assumes no responsibility or liability
for damages, losses, misfortune or injury, direct, incidental,
consequential or otherwise resulting from the acceptance, possession
or use of a winning wallpaper.
The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for illegible,
lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete entries, system errors
and failures, faulty transmissions, or other communication malfunctions.
These Competition rules are available in the
English language only. If these rules are translated into another
language, the English language text shall in any event prevail.
This Competition and these rules are governed by and shall be
construed in accordance with English law and any dispute arising
in connection with these rules shall be subject to the exclusive
jurisdiction of the English courts. Any provision of these rules
deemed unenforceable will be enforced to the extent permissible
and the remainder of these rules will remain in effect.
All decisions by the Sponsor relating to this
Competition and these rules are final.
8. Cheating: Participants agree not to knowingly
damage or cause interruption to the Competition and/or prevent
others from participating in the Competition. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT
TO DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE COMPETITION
VIOLATES CRIMINAL OR CIVIL LAWS. IF SUCH AN ATTEMPT IS MADE, SPONSOR
MAY DISQUALIFY ANY PARTICIPANTS MAKING SUCH ATTEMPT AND SPONSOR
MAY SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
